Item 2: Anything floral
Looks like the azaleas won’t be the only thing in full bloom this spring. Snag a floral print—anything, really—and you’re sure to be the best-dressed flower in the garden. For a timeless look, try J.Crew’s floral toothpick jeans or blossoming schoolboy blazer. These prints have such classic base colors they can almost be considered solids. Pair them with neutrals to tone them down a bit or, if you’re feeling adventurous, mix prints together. Refrain from wearing that statement necklace you bought last week. Instead, go a little grunge with tousled hair and smoking heels, and prepare for a flower-powered night out.

Abby McCauley, a fearless fashionista who works at the small boutique, explains how essential this Pantone fashion color is to a great spring wardrobe: “Mint complements almost every skin tone, and the soft color pairs great with bright pops of pink or pastel hues.”

Item 4: Bold stripes

If there were two things that stood out on the runways this season, it was the unforgettable contrasting combo of black and white and big, bold, Where’s Waldo stripes. Get the best of both worlds with this Urban Outfitters Sparkle and Fade silk tie-front shirt. If you’re feeling a little more chromatic, pair red and white stripes with denim and aviators for an all-American look, or navy and white stripes for a more nautical ensemble.
